Lilly Says

I haven't done one of these in a while, and I need to keep up with them because this child gets (mostly unintentionally) funnier by the day.  Case in point, the following conversation happened a few weeks ago:

Me:  Lilly, please don't do that (I can't even remember what she was doing).  Mommy has asked you before not to do that.
Lilly (pointing her finger): You know better.

Seriously?

Two other things we've been working on recently are the concept of "yes ma'am/sir" and "no ma'am/sir" and also the fact that we are not allowed to tell Mommy or Daddy (or any other adult, for that matter) "no."  So last night at dinner, Lilly was trying to stand up in her high chair, and the following conversation happened:

Me:  Lillian, please sit on your bottom, you know better (see above - ha).
Lilly:  No.
Me:  Lilly, you know you are not supposed to tell Mommy no, I would hate for you to have to have a time out.  Please sit on your bottom.
Lilly:  No ma'am.

Dan and I both failed miserably at hiding our laughter.  I didn't even know what to say.  At least she was polite?  We'll keep working on it, I guess.

We are loving this warm weather!!!  I haven't checked the forecast but I surely hope it sticks around.
