The Wonder Weeks

Have y'all heard about The Wonder Weeks?  I have had several girlfriends who LOVED it, and most recently my sister-in-law gave it rave reviews, so I decided to check it out.  There is a book, but I have found that I don't have too much time to read lately (ha!) so I downloaded the app instead.

Essentially, it takes the due date of your baby and calculates the development of his or her brain based on the due date.  Based on the date and brain development, it outlines all of the developmental "leaps" that your child is taking through week 76.5.  It gives you an idea of what your child is going through cognitively and provides a possible explanation for any changes in behavior, and then gives tips on how to comfort baby and help them through these "leaps."

This week, for example, Craft is dealing with changing sensations.

He is far more interested in the world around him and can see things a lot better, and he's responding more to his surroundings.  He's looking at things for longer periods of time, giving social smiles, and is more awake and "busy" in general.  This results in sometimes crying for no reason (YES), only wanting mama (double yes), wanting more physical contact (ummm yes), wanting to nurse more often (seriously have you seen him?), etc.

Anyway, probably all of this is super nerdy, but I've found it to be very helpful and right on point, so if you're a mama or mama-to-be you should definitely check it out.

I meant to do a weekend update today but ran out of time and now am wayyyyyyyy too tired, so maybe tomorrow.  Hope your Monday was great!
