I'm baaaaaack!

Hey Ladies and Gents!  I made it home from Chicago safely and have lots of updates from the past few weeks to blog about.  Did ya miss me?

I know I still need to blog about the wedding and my family's lake trip from a few weekendss ago...I am such a slacker!  I didn't take my computer with me to Chicago - Dan did, but we were such busy bees that I wouldn't have had time to blog if I tried.  Not to worry, I'm here now!

I'll start off the week with an update since I am officially 19 weeks today!  Can you believe it?  I sure can't, time has absolutely flown.  It is semi stressing me out, because we have a lot to do.  Thankfully, I won't be traveling for work anymore, so that should help; however, we do not have very many weekends at home coming up, so we are going to have to get a move on!

Without further ado, here are my 19 week stats:

Size of Geronimina: A friend the other day called her Geronimina, which I thought was hilarious, so I thought I'd try it out.  I'll probably alternate between the two.  Anyway, this week SHE (so crazy to finally be able to say "she" instead of "he/she"!) is the size of a mango!  She is getting a little bit of hair on her scalp, and is having some major sensory development - her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision and touch. According to one of my e-mails, "Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you."  Luckily for Baby B, I have already been stimulating her sense of hearing with my awesome contraption from the best girlfriends ever.

Weight Gain So Far: As of last Wednesday, I'm up 4 lbs!  I feel sure I gained on vacation last week with all of the eating that occurred or with the delicious and nutritious boxed macaroni I made Layla and myself for dinner tonight since Dan is still out of town but whatever.

Cravings: Pizza.  Chicago style pizza.  I can't talk about it anymore or I may have to do something drastic like catch the next flight back so I can eat more.

Aversions: Nothing except smells that come from the microwave when people heat their disgusting lunches!

Symptoms: The usual.  Back to constipation (SIGH) (I know, you thought we were over talking about this, sorry bout it!), super tired, nauseated sometimes, and really dizzy.  Oh and let's not ever forget the up 2389472347 times per night to use the bathroom.

Movement:  I have really been able to feel her move over the past week, and I actually felt a few kicks over the weekend!  She either really loves or really hates flying, because the most movement happened on the plane rides to and from Chicago.

What I Miss: Nothing except not looking like a cow!  Feeling very blessed and thankful for a healthy baby girl.

Things I am Thankful For:  Said healthy baby girl from above.  Michigan Avenue.  Nachos in a helmet at the Cubs game (more on that later).  Chicago pizza.  The Weibles and their wonderful hospitality.

Signs of a Bump: YES, it definitely seems to have gotten bigger over night.  Even Dan last week said, "Oh my gosh where did THAT come from?"  It is also to the point now where people can tell that I'm pregnant and not just fat, and random strangers making small talk will ask when I'm d due.  Makes me feel great!  This picture was taken over the weekend (Yes, my Cubs shirt still [barely] fit!  And no, I am not sure why my hair looked like crap the entire time I was in Chicago - it must not have liked the water):

Next Doctor Appointment: October 7, right before we fly to California for our babymoon/last big trip before baby arrives.  This one should just be a routine check-up as I am meeting with a doctor (just like I have every 4 weeks up until now).  I ***think*** I am done with all of my testing - we did the spina bifida test last week - but you really never can tell.  I don't think I get any more ultrasounds, though.  Sad face.  Oh, also, got some test results back today that her neural scan looks normal, so we are thankful for that, too!
Things I'm looking forward to:  Dan coming home on Thursday (such a sap, I know), our babymoon to California (SEEING SHEILA!) in October, and the shower I am throwing for my bestie in November (Lots of fun surprises, Niener!  So excited!).

That's all for tonight - I have not been feeling well at all today so I think Layla and I shall head to bed early and watch the Sing-Off (LOVE).  Up on the blog this week: lots and lots of updates because I'm a slacker!  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Sarah
