It is getting harder to write these updates, because I have said before that they're far less interesting than other posts...but I'm sticking with them in hopes that I will appreciate it later! Here are my 25-week stats:
Size of Geronimina: One of my e-mails says that Baby B is the size of an "average" rutabaga, and another says she's the size of an eggplant! Here is what those look like to normal people:
She is currently measuring around 13 1/2 inches and weighs around a pound and a half. Growing like a weed! She's developing some baby fat - I will have to post pictures of Dan and I when we were little, but if homegirl is chunky she'll come by it honest for sure. As she develops more fat, her wrinkly skin will start to smooth out and she'll look less alien-like and more baby-like. She's also growing more hair — if this heartburn is truly any indication she is going to come out with a head FULL of it — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Weight Gain So Far: I am not sure on this one - considering we only had TWO trick-or-treaters last night, and that I cannot stop eating candy until it makes me sick, I am afraid to get on the scale at the doctor at the end of the week. I weighed on my home scale on Sunday and it was right at +10 lbs, but I just cannot imagine that's right - either I've forgotten my starting weight due to pregnancy brain or that scale has a serious problem. I'll know for sure after Friday, sigh!
Cravings: Smartees are all I have been able to think about lately, which is weird for me because normally I'm 100% a chocolate girl. Oh, and Mom's sloppy Joe's, which I shall make tomorrow night to satisfy the craving.
Aversions: Pork. Today was a co-worker's birthday, and when we asked where he wanted to go to lunch, he mentioned a bbq place and my stomach churned. Ever since I was so sick from it in May, I haven't been able to think about it without feeling nauseated - and pregnancy has enhanced that for sure.
Symptoms: Same old here, nothing new I don't think. Tired, heartburn, nasal congestion, peeing all of the time. You know, the usual! I can't remember whether I mentioned this one before, but my skin is really itchy as well.
Movement: TONS, tiny dancer in there for sure - and by dancer I mean rowdy dance moves, like cupid shuffle- or tango-style. I can't remember whether I've said it before, but she either loves/hates: church, my singing, music, bed time, other babies (today when I was holding my co-worker's baby, Sam, she was going nuts and kicking him!) and spicy food based on how much she moves. Let's hope it's "love" on all of the above - particularly bed time. :-)
What I Miss: Can't think of anything this week, I feel great!
Things I am Thankful For: I am sure I will be mushy about this a lot because he's been extra incredible during this pregnancy, but my husband! I needed to clean after work tonight because it has been a while and our house was in rough shape, and I was really dreading it (we're having some of Dan's co-workers over towards the end of the week). I was going to do half tonight and half tomorrow night, because we're always busy on the weekends. I walked in the door to an absolutely spotless house. He dusted, mopped, cleaned every inch, even vacuumed the couches and stairs - I was so excited I almost cried. AND he re-organized a downstairs closet that I've been meaning to do so that my wrapping paper is in the front as are all of my seasonal decorations. Lord, I love that man!
What I’m looking Forward To: The nursery coming together. I think we have a while until this happens, but the fact that we finally ordered furniture is a huge weight off my shoulders. I just hope it comes in earlier than anticipated, because y'all know I like to have things in order. Now, if we could just pick some bedding and stick with it, so that we can put the rest of the room together!
Signs of a Bump: Def. I was telling Steph today that it's getting harder to bend over - putting on socks is hilarious, so I can only imagine how it will be a month from now. Additionally, some of my workout exercises are becoming more difficult because I'm not as bendy as I was before - Geronimina is getting in the way! That does not stop the torture sessions, unfortunately. I'm sure I'll be thankful for it at some point...like for all of the weddings this summer that I have to be skinny for (including the two that I'm in)...sigh.
Next Doctor Appointment: Friday! I think after this I have to start going every two weeks. Oy, time is flying!
Wellllll that's all for me for tonight. Hope everyone has had a great start to their week!
