BB2.0: 30 Weeks

I do not know how it is possible that 30 weeks have already gone by.  Time is FLYING.  I feel like I'll blink and Baby Boy will be here.  Perhaps Dan and I should discuss names.  And buy nursery furniture.  Oy.

Size of Baby Boy:  Approximately 15.7 inches long and almost 3 lbs (definitely more than 3 lbs, if you keep reading to the "doctor appointment update" section you'll see how I know), aka a large cabbage:

This week it is all about eyesight development.  Keep growing, baby (but not too big thanks)!

Weight Gain So Far:  My home scale and the doctor's scale were consistent for the first time ever - just under 19.5 lbs.  I don't know how it's possible that I only gained a pound after all of the eating that happened last week, but I'll take it.  I'm right on track with last pregnancy (+19 lbs at this point).  Again, I'll take it.

Cravings:  Sweets, sweets and more sweets...can't get enough.  I gave in and bought my first bag of candy cane kisses and also my first CFA peppermint shake within the past week.  Both big mistakes.  Hilariously, I noticed that I blogged about the same thing (at least the kisses) in the 30-week update post from L's pregnancy, too.

Aversions:  Nada.

Symptoms:  Nothing new to report - frequent urination, exhaustion coupled with insomnia, back aches.  No swelling, thankfully.  I have been having some contractions and have had some pretty uncomfortable "down there" pressure, which I feel like is happening way earlier this time than during the last pregnancy.

Movement:  He's still playing one-man soccer matches in there.  I love it, but I would appreciate it if he did this sometime other than when I am trying to go to sleep.  I suppose I should just be thankful that he is healthy and a dancing machine, right?

What I Miss:  Not a thing!  Although I could have used some wine yesterday when I was having a rough day with poor L and the plague.

Signs of a Bump:  See for yourself:

And here's L at 30 weeks:

They both look enormous to me.

What I'm Thankful For:  Family and friends, love, prayers and support.  We got some not-so-great news just before Thanksgiving that I am not yet prepared to talk about, but I have really been feeling the love and for that I am so grateful (aforementioned news does not pertain to baby and me - we are both fine!).  And on a lighter note, Black Friday and Cyber Monday if for no other reason than to make me get my butt in gear on Christmas shopping!  Oh, and these two:

This evening's view from the monitor.
I just want to squeeze them both, my heart is so full.

What I'm Looking Forward To:  An Evening With Elves on Friday and my work Holiday party on Saturday!  And hopefully decorating our Christmas tree...I can't wait to see what L thinks.  An abundance of photos to come, I'm sure!

Doctor Appointment Update:  Everything is perfect!  I passed my glucose test "with flying colors" per the doctor (I celebrated the passing of said glucose test by eating a honeybun for breakfast and having a CFA peppermint shake as an afternoon snack.  Whoops.  Refer to "weight gain" in next week's post.).  Also, thankfully my blood pressure is still wonderful at 104/64.  I wasn't yet having trouble with BP at this point last pregnancy, so I don't think that I'm totally in the clear, but the fact that it's been much lower overall this time around gives me hope (read: no bed rest, please!).  The only cause for any concern is that my platelets are low, but they were low last pregnancy as well so that's nothing new (and it's not even really a concern).  I think the only thing that affects is whether or not I can get an epidural, but they're not low enough to worry about right now so the doctor just said we'll monitor and probably test them again in a few weeks.  In unfortunate news, my suspicions were confirmed that this child is going to be gigantic because he is measuring at 32 weeks (so 2 weeks ahead).  It pains me to even think about it.  The doctor said that I'll probably get another ultrasound in a few weeks to see whether I am in fact going to be birthing an elephant how big he is, but she wouldn't really discuss what that means/how they'll ensure that I do not have an 11-pounder on my hands.  Don't get me wrong, I'm excited at the thought of another ultrasound because I haven't gotten to see BB2.0 since 18 weeks but dear lord please don't let him weigh 11 pounds.  Or 10.  Or 9.  Or even 8.5.  8 or less sounds good.

Next Doctor Appointment:  December 18th, the day after my 30th 25th birthday!  It's hard to believe it's already time to go every two weeks.

In news unrelated to BB2.0, I am not sure how but I forgot to post this video in my Thanksgiving Recap post and I think it's too cute not to share, so I'll leave you tonight with some cuteness overload from my favorite girl:

Happy almost hump day!
